All McKinstry Type 4 enclosures are now rated Type 4X by UL® when coated with our standard TGIC Polyester finish.
Floor-Stand Mounted Enclosures
Floor stands elevate the floors of these enclosures at least 12" off the floor. They provide easy access to the bottom of the enclosure and protection in wet, contaminated, corrosive or dirty environments. Designed for use with a single machine, a separate manufacturing cell, a manufacturing line or an entire plant.
Unless otherwise noted, all enclosures have double doors, continuous hinges, are rated Type 12 and come without panels.
Type 12 Enclosures
Type 12 enclosures are designed by McKinstry to meet the requirements set forth by the National Electrical Manufacturers Association and are tested and certified by UL and CSA.
All of our Type 12 enclosures also meet Type 13 requirements.
Wall-Mounted Enclosures
Unless otherwise noted, all enclosures have single doors, continuous hinges and are Type 12 and 13 rated. All McKinstry Type 4 enclosures are now rated Type 4X by UL® when coated with our standard TGIC Polyester finish. All wall-mounted enclosures are sold less panels.
Stainless Steel Enclosures
McKinstry makes standard versions of all of its most popular enclosures in Type 304 stainless steel. Look for our stainless steel enclosures in the product category that best suits your needs. Stainless steel enclosures can be identified by looking for Bulletins that start "SS".
Type 4X Enclosures
McKinstry Type 4X enclosures provide protection indoors and outdoors against corrosion, windblown dust and rain, splashing and hose directed water and against unauthorized access or inadvertent contact with the controls and wiring located inside the enclosure. The enclosure is not damaged by the formation of ice on the outside of the enclosure.
Modular Enclosures
Bulletin 70-LP [CAD] Type 12 modular enclosures come in one or two door models and can be combined in any desired multiple door arrangement. Customer may choose which enclosure has a right flange universal disconnect cutout. Options include end covers, gasket kits (for use between enclosures) and operator adapter kits. End covers come flat, 1.89" deep or 3.75" deep.
Small Enclosures
These small enclosures are designed to protect wiring junctions and controls from unauthorized or inadvertent access and from certain environmental factors. Type 1 Enclosures
Pushbutton Enclosures
Bulletin 53 includes a wide variety of pushbutton enclosures. Pushbutton enclosures are specified by the number of pushbutton holes in the enclosure; for example, a 4 hole pushbutton enclosure is a 53-4.
Other differences between the enclosures are denoted by a letter following the number of pushbuttons. Unless otherwise noted, all pushbutton enclosures are Type 12 and 13 rated and have standard "4-way" pushbutton holes and gasketed covers.
